Lance Tanaka was already 35 years old and working as a General Manager for Tokyo Pepsi-Cola when he realised that he didn’t just want to sell a product, but actually make a difference in the lives of others. As far as anyone is concerned, that’s his purpose. And so, he set out a 10-year plan and did just that.
Now in his 60s, Lance Tanaka is influencing the lives of many aspiring and well-established leaders through the Lance Tanaka Group. Since founding the consulting company in 2001, he has racked up over 17,000 coaching hours for executives from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Europe and the United States.
Lance Tanaka is also an author who has published two books about leadership titled Dream and Achieve (2017) and Stories from the Top (2019), both available on Amazon. For this insightful soul, there is no specific trait to becoming a great leader because there are so many leadership styles that are unique to every individual.
In this interview, Lance Tanaka gets candid about interesting topics like learning how to network as an introvert, the significance of silence, which he correlated to music, and so much more.
