Why Should We Start Design Thinking to Solve Complex Problems
Margriet Buseman of Orange Minds works to make design thinking a practical method for problem-solving. So, what is design thinking? In this episode of TIPS ,we’ll learn why we should start design thinking to solve complex problems.
Design thinking is all about understanding a problem. It begins with empathy. This means relating to whoever is having the problem, usually the customer. Empathy leads to opening up to different perspectives. It allows us to withhold judgements and see other people’s truths as they are, opening us up to a variety of solutions.
We should also start design thinking to solve complex problems because it helps us define the specifics. We narrow down and identify the real problem before brainstorming and ideation. Then, it emphasizes taking action by prototyping the solution. In design thinking, what we come up with or already have can be put to the test for feedback.
This continuous loop of empathizing with the customer’s problem and receiving feedback makes design thinking a great way to solve complex problems. Got any questions? Don’t be shy and hit our inbox so we can learn together. Thanks!
